Dame Mary Quant, the British legendary fashion designer who popularized the short skirt, has died at the age of 93.

Image
Mary Quant, the British designer who popularized the miniskirt, has died at the age of 93.  According to a statement released by her family to the PA news agency, she "died peacefully at home in Surrey, UK this morning."  Her family described her as "an internationally recognized fashion designer of the twentieth century and an outstanding innovator of the Swinging Sixties."  Quant became a poster girl for London's Youthquake in the 1960s. Although she is frequently incorrectly attributed as the originator, she unquestionably made the miniskirt the "it" clothing item for a new generation of young women. With her Vidal Sassoon hair and her fame as the face of Swinging London, she was regularly photographed and was virtually always wearing a mini - notably when she received her OBE in 1966. Quant did more than just wear miniskirts; she also designed them.  She was at the forefront of the 1960s fashion change that put kids front and center for the first...

Peter is very busy in Heaven, so he leaves a sign by the pearly gates: "For Service Ring Bell." Away he goes but barely gets started when BING!  The bell rings. He rushes back to the gates, but no one's there. Peter goes back to work when suddenly BING!  The bell rings again. He rushes back to the gates, but no one's there. A little annoyed, Peter goes back to work. Suddenly, BING!  The bell rings again. Peter goes back; again, no one's there.  "Okay, that's it," Peter says. "I'm going to hide and watch to see what's going on." So Peter hides, and a moment later, a little old man walks up and rings the bell.  Peter jumps out and yells, "Aha! Are you the guy who keeps ringing the bell?"  "Yes, that's me," the little old man says.  "Well, why do you keep ringing the bell and going away?" Peter asks.  "I can't help it — they keep resuscitating me!” he replies.  By Covenant

Image from Pexels  Dozens of passengers, including a six-month-old infant, were killed when a tourist ferry in the Philippines caught fire. Following the fire on the MV Lady Mary Joy 3 off the southern province of Basilan on Wednesday evening, at least 23 people were wounded and taken to the hospital. Rescuers are still looking for at least seven missing passengers, with fears that there were additional passengers on board who were not mentioned in the ship's manifest. The ferry is fully engulfed in flames, according to shocking video footage. According to regional governor Jim Hataman, survivors jumped into the water and were rescued by the coast guard, another passing vessel, and local fishermen. 'Some of the passengers were roused from their sleep due to the commotion created by the fire,' he said. Some people leapt off the ship.' Several victims drowned and were recovered at sea, while 18 were found in the passenger cabin's budget section, he added.  The ferry...

I can't take that risk."

An elderly American couple went on holiday to Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away.  The undertaker explained to the husband that "You can have her shipped home for $5,000 or you can have her buried here in the Holy Land for $150."  The man thought about it and told him that he would just have his wife shipped home.  The undertaker was surprised. He asked the man: "Why would you spend $5,000 to have your wife shipped home when it would be wonderful for her to be buried here and you would spend only $150?"  The husband replied: "Long ago, a man died here, was buried, and three days later he rose from the dead. I can't take that risk."  By Covenant
