  According to the authorities, the UK will halt evacuation flights from Sudan by 6 p.m. on Saturday.  Oliver Dowden said that Britons remaining trapped in the crisis-hit country will have fewer than 24 hours to make their way to a military airstrip outside Khartoum, Sudan's capital.  He told reporters on Friday afternoon that more than 1,500 people had been flown out of the country, but that there had been a "significant decline in British nationals coming forward."  Dowden denied that British nationals who were unable to make there in time would be abandoned.  "Every single British national who has come forward and their eligible dependents have been safely placed on a plane," he said.  "We're seeing a significant drop in those numbers." MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO – Peel Regional Police stated Thursday that more than $20 million in gold and other high-value items were stolen from Toronto Pearson Airport.  According to Duty Inspector Stephen Duivesteyn, police are investigating a theft that occurred early Monday evening after a plane arrived at the airport and its cargo was taken to a holding facility.  "Once this cargo was offloaded at a holding facility following its arrival, this high-value container was removed illegally," Duivesteyn explained.  "The container held a valuable shipment."
