A college student could not take his seminar final exam because of a funeral. 
"No problem," the teacher told him. "Make it up the following week." That week came, and again he couldn't take the test due to another funeral. 
"You'll have to take the test early next week," the professor insisted. "I can't keep postponing it." 
"I'll take the test next week if no one dies," the undergrad replied.
By now the instructor was suspicious. "How can you have so many people you know pass away in three weeks?" 
"I don't know any of these people," the student exclaimed. "But I'm the only gravedigger in town."

A tornado kills 23 people in Mississippi, wreaking pandemonium in the southern US state.

  Tornadoes swept over Mississippi, killing at least 23 people and left a devastation in their wake. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency stated on Twitter that search and rescue teams from local and state agencies had been mobilized to assist tornado victims. Early Saturday, the agency revealed that 23 people had perished, four were missing, and dozens had been injured. "Unfortunately, these numbers are expected to change," the agency tweeted a few minutes later. A tornado inflicted damage around 60 miles north-east of Jackson, Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service. The remote settlements of Silver City and Rolling Fork were destroyed as the tornado moved northeast at 70 mph, racing into Alabama through towns like Winona and Amory into the night. The technology's creator stated in a tweet that he did not leave Google to criticize it.  The man dubbed "the Godfather of A.I.", Geoffrey Hinton, has resigned his position at Google. This shift represents a critical turning point in the advancement of AI, as Hinton is joining forces with other detractors to raise awareness of the possible risks associated with AI,  according to a New York Times report.  The pioneer of artificial intelligence laid the theoretical groundwork for the AI systems that drive modern chatbots like ChatGPT. Humza Yousaf has been named the new leader of the Scottish National Party, succeeding Nicola Sturgeon.

  Following a vote in Holyrood on Tuesday, Humza Yousaf won the SNP leadership election and will most likely succeed Nicola Sturgeon as First Minister of Scotland. Yousaf, who was elected as the youngest MSP in 2011 at the age of 26, has spent weeks battling for the position of next First Minister alongside Ash Regan and Kate Forbes. A total of 50,494 valid votes were cast, representing a 70% turnout. Because no candidate received 50% of the first-choice vote, Regan, who garnered the fewest votes, was eliminated, leaving only Forbes and Yousaf.
