Documents show that Raquel Welch was suffering from Alzheimer's disease at the time of her death.

 

Following her death in February at the age of 82, Hollywood actress Raquel Welch's cause of death has been verified as a cardiac arrest. According to the paper obtained by TMZ, Alzheimer's disease was one of the underlying causes of her death. The actress, famed for her roles in One Million Years BC, The Three Musketeers, and Legally Blonde, had not previously disclosed that she was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Her manager, Steve Sauer, confirmed her death "peacefully" after a "brief illness" following the announcement of her death. According to the death certificate, she died at 2:25 a.m. on February 15, and she was cremated. Welch soared to stardom swiftly in the 1960s and quickly became one of the industry's most sought-after actresses. She was dubbed a sex symbol after her role in the film One Million Years B.C., despite the fact that several filmmakers and Playboy magazines insisted on it. She also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her performance in The Three Musketeers in 1974. Welch has been married four times and has two children, Tahnee and Damon Welch.

A tornado kills 23 people in Mississippi, wreaking pandemonium in the southern US state.

  Tornadoes swept over Mississippi, killing at least 23 people and left a devastation in their wake. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency stated on Twitter that search and rescue teams from local and state agencies had been mobilized to assist tornado victims. Early Saturday, the agency revealed that 23 people had perished, four were missing, and dozens had been injured. "Unfortunately, these numbers are expected to change," the agency tweeted a few minutes later. A tornado inflicted damage around 60 miles north-east of Jackson, Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service. The remote settlements of Silver City and Rolling Fork were destroyed as the tornado moved northeast at 70 mph, racing into Alabama through towns like Winona and Amory into the night.
